Staying at Upper Diagonal felt comfortable due to the excellent cleanliness and spacious layout of my room. The bed provided great support, making it easy to enjoy restful nights. The air conditioning worked well initially but struggled during the day, especially when the sun hit the room, making it quite warm. This was a downside, as I had to keep adjusting it. The hotel’s location made accessing nearby attractions a breeze, but the local restaurant options needed improvement regarding hours of operation. Overall, the positives outweigh the negatives, especially with the restaurant's high-quality food and the fact that it’s open all day. I appreciated having two complimentary bottles of water daily, a nice touch that kept me refreshed. Still, some issues with management communication left me feeling dissatisfied at times, particularly for the amount spent.

A great value with some quirks

The hotel exceeded my expectations with its friendly staff and clean, spacious rooms. Proximity to the metro made exploring Barcelona so easy and enjoyable.

However, the air conditioning struggled during the hotter parts of the day, which made the room quite warm. I also noticed some noise from neighboring rooms that affected my sleep.

Staying for a conference was a pleasure, especially with the great restaurant—food was really exceptional! The location was perfect, just a short walk from the Palau Reial, making it easy to explore the area. The room was spacious, very clean, and well-equipped. The breakfast was a great value, especially when shared.

Our room faced the bar/restaurant, making it challenging to sleep due to noise until around 12am. Additionally, lacking on-site parking forced us to use a nearby facility, which was inconvenient. Several guests reported problems with bugs in their rooms, which is definitely a concern.

My stay was mostly pleasant, with a clean, spacious room. The iron and ironing board were useful. However, the air conditioning struggled in the heat. A tip for future guests, adjust the settings before you leave the room to keep it cool during hot days.

My stay at Upper Diagonal was fantastic! The location was perfect and allowed easy access to the metro, making it a breeze to explore Barcelona. The Superior Double Room I stayed in was spacious, very clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The shower provided nice hot water, and I enjoyed the high-quality breakfast options available.

There was no bidet in the bathroom.
